DID IT! | July 2010 | Dublin 8

July saw the launch of PhotoIreland Festival in Dublin – Ireland’s first international Festival of Photography.
As part of the Festival we curated a show entitled DID IT! which brought together the work of first year students from DIT’s [Dublin Institute of Technology] degree in Photography
For these students the privilege of exhibiting work is usually reserved until the final year, but PrettyvacanT Dublin wanted to give that same opportunity to first year students.
DID IT! created a platform through which to display their work, and celebrate their new-found confidence, creativity and completion.
The artists’ theme was 'Space', interpreted in a myriad of ways - workspaces, spaces for living, vacant space, outdoors space.
DID IT! allowed each emerging photographer to give individual and unique expression to an overarching concept, and brought their newly-created work to a new audience for the first time.
The Photographers were:
Andrina Baker | Kristina Collender | Emmett Connell | Efa Corwell | Neil Dorgan | Karen Forrester | Jonathan Higgins | Kasia Kaminska | Feena Kavanagh | Barry Keogh | Harry Lyster | Robert Mc Cormack | Deirdre Mc Ging | Claire Meagh | Rosie Nixon | Adele O'Byrne | Nikki O' Carroll | Treasa O' Hanlon | Brian O’Leary | Irene Siragusa
The exhibition was supported by Gunns.
DID IT! was featured in The Irish Times, The Tribune and the Metro Herald.
